Rayner’s Hydrophilic Acrylic IOLs are equally effective in preventing PCO when compared with hydrophobic acrylic lenses.
The rate of Nd:YAG capsulotomy was 0.6% at 12 months and 1.7% at 24 months.
Mean absolute rotation was: 1.83° ± 1.44°, mean absolute decentration: 0.08 ± 0.37 mm, no lens rotated more than 5°.
Long-term safety profile was demonstrated in a retrospective case review of 171 eyes, leading to good visual outcomes and a low rate of vision-impairing uveal and capsule complications.
